I love that. Your writing of it (still have to listen to the track) reminds me of something I’ve been thinking about the past few weeks.

I’m so tired of memorizing scales and chords for my instruments. They’re useful, but it feels like that’s what everyone does. So recently I’ve been jamming on my instruments improvising, making “my own scales”, “my own chords”, whatever. It’s such a freeing way to play music as a lot of the time music can feel like you’re following rules more than you’re having spontaneous fun.
